A little care, watchful maintenance with occasional cleaning ads to the beauty of your carpets and makes them last longer.

  • The element that is most destructive to the rugs is not the rubbing action of shoes but the dust and dirt that comes with them. For regular cleaning, use of broom or carpet sweeper is recommended. Vacuum cleaning should be done once or twice a week and that only after the carpet is about two to three months old. Clean the carpet in the direction of pile.
  • Lay the carpet in such a way that the pile inclines away from strong sunlight, but let it be kept well aired.
  • Being made of wool, oriental carpets provide a perfect hiding place for moths. To keep them away, spray the back of the carpet every 6 months with insecticide or get it water washed from experts once a year.
  • Underlay is not required if the floor is flat and even. However, if rugs are placed on highly polished floors, a thin rubber underlay will prevent them from sliding.
  • Every carpet falls victim to stains at sometime or the other. However, there is nothing to worry about as the danger of spots and satins can be greatly minimized if you have all the cleaning equipment at hand and act quickly to remove the spots and stains before they set. You must follow the cleaning directions carefully.
